Who Are We?
MTO Sufi Society® is an affiliation of Maktab Tarighat Oveyssi Shahmaghsoudi®, School of Islamic Sufism®.
MTO Sufi Society® is located in the United Kingdom and has societies based at numerous universities across the country such as Goldsmiths College, King’s College, Kingston University, London Metropolitan University and Westminster University.
Our Aims And Objectives
- To establish a positive, fun, relaxed and supportive community at universities to learn the teachings of Sufism together.
- Raise awareness of the spiritual aspect of human beings and to create a supportive community to enhance the development of the individual in all its totality.
- Sufism teaches the path to Self-cognition and believes a successful human society is attained through the outward and inward harmony of each of its members and their harmonious existence in a unified system. To achieve this, the society hopes to foster dialogue and understanding amongst different religious/spiritual/philosophical groups to create “a bridge between religions”.
Throughout the year MTO Sufi Society® hosts and takes parts in a range of events and activities, which include: Interfaith events, regular society meetings at each university, discussions, Tamarkoz® (Sufi Meditation), Zekr (Sufi Chanting), dialogue events and musical and cultural events.
